Scenes
The stage can also change and be coded. You can initialize sprites in a scene by placing them in the script box and then use code to move and change them. You could use a scene change in an animation or if you wanted a car to drive somewhere. Many of them used backdrops by having the character walk through and just change the backdrop as the character moves from side to side.

Penguin Joke Project Reflection
When broadcasting it is just a conversation between the two scripts. You have to get the timing just right so they aren't speaking at the same time. I would use broadcasting if I wanted two scripts to have a conversation with each other. I would use timing if I wanted two or more scripts to alternate while completing a task.
Make a Block Reflection
When you use make a block you are still using the same code. You're just combining everything into one block. If you want a fish to glide and then spin you can have it do both of those under one block. You might use make a block if you want your script to do the same thing multiple times, but at different times throughout the project.

Debug Refection
While debugging some strategies I used where to try different things out, until the commands worked. Such as changing commands around and testing them out. If I were to help someone else learn how to debug I would first show them the main commands that are often used. Then I would help them by solving the debug using trial and error.

10 Block Challenge
This activity helped me understand and use different blocks that I normally wouldn't use while creating an activity. The blocks lets you become creative and think outside of the box. It also makes your project look more creative by forcing you to use specific blocks.

Week 1-Try it Out
While completely my first activity I was surprised at how precise you have to be while using scratch coding. I liked being led step by step through the activity because it helped me gain a better understanding. As a learner I prefer to work with other students on large activity. Something like scratch wouldn't be big enough to work with a partner on. I like to have freedom on smaller activities so I can be creative.

Intro to HTML
3 things you want to learn:
- How to write more in depth HTML coding
- How to put a video into your program with code
- Different ways to get color onto the background of your page
2 things I have learned:
- The name for something like <h1> is called a tag
- By changing the number next to the h in <h1> it can make the headings font size change
1 thing I am concerned about making a webpage:
- Coming up with an idea or concept for my page

New Code for Binary System:
These are the symbols I am using to represent the numbers zero and one:
< represents the number 0
> represents the number 1
The sentence I used to represent this new binary code is:
Hi, my name is Kalli.
16, 8, 4, 2, 1
16, 8, 4, 2, 1
< > < < < = H
< > < < > = I
< < < < < = space

< < < < < = space
< > > > < = N
< < < < > = A
< > > < > = M
< < > < > = E
< < < < < = space

"Why do Computers use Binary"
3 new things learned:
- Phone encodes sound waves as a voltage signal and the headphones decode the voltage signals as sound waves to get sound to your ear.
- All computers bases on a base two system.
- They use base two binary because it has the fewest digits, but binary numbers are a lot longer so it takes a longer time to send the numbers into the adder.
2 new things you don't understand:
- I don't understand how higher and lower voltages and pressures can create sound without anything else too it.
- I don't understand why they would use digital and analog signals if they already use the binary system.
1 thing you would like to know:
- Do things such sound in an iPhone also use the binary system or just voltage signals?

Binary Post
- Level 4 is the highest level I have gotten to.
- The hardest part of the binary game is adding up large numbers.
- I think using binary numbers to count with smaller numbers is easy, but I don't like using it when the numbers get larger.
- You could use your five fingers as binary numbers.
- On computers it's less time consuming.

Eliza Blog Post
I didn't find Eliza to be "human-like" because she couldn't keep a conversation going. When you asked her questions she would say that she didn't want to talk about herself. I also found it annoying that she didn't know what half of the things I was saying meant. To make Eliza more human I would try and give her more questions to ask or answer. I would also broaden her vocabulary and dialogue. A computer can only express so much. There isn't much emotion that you can express unless it is programmed into the computer. I don't think that computers can be a "human-like" substitute in the future because to do that a human would have to be behind the programming. This wouldn't be substituting a human it would be like talking to a human through the computer because the program would have to start by a human making it.

Google Boys
Google was created by Lary Page and Sergey Brin. They went to the same college and originally hated each other. While moving forward they faced challenges with competing with other search engines and many law suits. The key to staying ahead and being ahead of all their competition is by updating links and using a page ranking system. Searching information is so fast because they have links stored.

Cultural Background- Native Americans
- The bead work is well known for its beauty.
- The key concept is how all of the bead work is related to math, science and symmetry.
- This system is based on the four-fold symmetry method.
- They all are similar because of the x positive, x negative, y positive and y negative.
- The names of the four items are Embroidery, Plains Indians, Shoshone Bead work, Pawnee Buffalo Hide Drum, and Navajo rug
- Reflection symmetry is when the right half is a mirror image of the left half. This also applies to the top and bottom. Also know as the "the four winds".
- An example of base four counting is the four base poles they use to build a Teepee.
- Four fold symmetry 3 is commonly used for sand painting these are used in healing ceremonies.
- The four fold symmetry 4 is used for Yupik parka decoration in Alaska for Eskimos.
- The four fold symmetry 5 system is used in bead looms.
- Native American bead work was created in 1794.
- Two examples of how they were used were for teaching purposed and bead looming.

Communication Post
While filling in my log I realized that I use my phone a lot for texting. Mainly I use my phone right when I wake up and normally before I go to bed. I occasionally use my phone during the day or after school, but usually i don't have much time for that.

Computer Project Reflection
2 things:
- While working on this project I enjoyed learning more about the difference between a Mac book and a Dell Inspiron computer.
- I also enjoyed the research part of this project and trying to find the best option for my client.
- It was challenging to find the best computer with the best price that would fit my clients needs. This may have been a challenge, but I also enjoyed this part of the project.

Blog Post #2
Working with my partner has been a good experience. We communicate well and have shared most of the work evenly. Dividing up work at the beginning was more of a challenge because we didn't know each other.

All About Me: First Blog Post
My name is Kalli and I
am a freshman at Reading Memorial High School.
Usually the first thing I tell people about myself is that I love to
play sports. This is suiting because my
blog is all about working out and sports.
I play basketball, softball and soccer and I'm a part of two AAU sports
teams. I play AAU basketball for the
Mass Rivals and AAU softball for the Batbusters. Some of my other hobbies consist of taking
pictures and spending time with my friends and family. I have one brother named Demetre and my mom
and dad, Barbara and David. My favorite
movie is definitely lone survivor and if you haven’t seen it I would recommend
you go and watch it. It’s very deep and
based on a true story about navy seals. These
are just a few things about me and my interests. I hope you enjoy my blog!
